Verification

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) conduct a verification audit on an annual basis to ensure Red Funnel's Safety Management System (shipboard and shore based) is functioning correctly and conforms to the ISM Code. Any discrepancies found in the system must be rectified in accordance with the code.

Every 5 years each operator's Safety Management System will be subjected to an exhaustive audit process by the MCA, and if deemed satisfactory, the Document of Compliance and Safety Management Certificates will be revalidated.
