Books of Tickets

Books of individual tickets are perfect for corporate clients and are valid for travel 12-months from the date of issue. Books of either 20 Hi-Speed Day Returns or 20 Hi-Speed Single tickets can be purchased online in advance of travel or from the Travel Centre or from both Hi-Speed ticket offices. A discount is also available for Island Residents (proof of address required – utility bill, driving licence). Hi-Speed books of tickets are also valid on the East Cowes/Southampton service.

Student Saver Tickets

Offering great discounts and flexibility to students living on the Isle of Wight who attend mainland Colleges or Universities, Student Saver tickets are sold in book form. Each book contains 20 individual Hi-Speed day return tickets which are valid for travel on any day and at any time when accompanied by a valid Student ID card bearing the holders photograph. Student Saver tickets expire on 31 July each year, regardless of the date of issue. ID cards are issued on application for each academic year (01 Sept to 31 July) and are issued subject to receipt of a course acceptance letter and passport size photograph. See below for prices.

#Students need to show a course registration document and proof of Island residence in order to purchase a Student Season Ticket.

These rates are valid from 9 January 2008. Student Saver tickets are also valid for foot passenger travel on Red Funnel’s vehicle ferry service and ticket holders also benefit from a 10% saving on food and drink items purchased from all ReFuel and Steam Coffee Company outlets as well as discounts and offers available from Island Club partners. Season tickets or Student Saver Tickets are not available for children (Under 16 years).

Student ID Card applications require a recent passport size image of the holder and a copy of the course acceptance letter on official College/University letterhead paper. Books of Saver Tickets are limited to 9 books per person for each academic year (7 September 2007 - 31 July 2008) and can only be purchased if a valid Student ID card is shown. Tickets are non-transferable or refundable. Red Funnel reserves the right to refuse travel to persons not carrying the required ID.
