Terms and Conditions
Carriage: Applies to both Vehicle Ferry and Hi-Speed routes, on any advertised sailing (see timetable for details). Parcels should be delivered not less than 30 minutes prior to departure.
Payment: Except for customers with established accounts, all carriage charges must be paid before shipment. All storage charges must be paid at time of collection. Payment can be made by credit/debit card.
Dangerous, Hazardous or Toxic Goods: Such items cannot be carried on either parcel service route - see the Dangerous Goods section for more information or if in doubt please consult terminal staff.
Storage: (for parcels awaiting collection) Rate: £3.50 + VAT per item/per day. Storage for parcels will be free for the first day after carriage. Storage thereafter will be charged at the above rate per item, per day (or part thereof), including weekends and public holidays. Consignments that are not collected within 30 days of despatch will be removed and disposed of.
Onward Delivery & Collection: Multiple parcels up to 50kg may be carried to or from the same Isle of Wight address at the same delivery charge. For multiple parcels over 50kg, a £5.50 charge will apply in addition to the delivery tariff.
Weight & Dimensions: We reserve the right to check weights and dimensions and apply the appropriate charges.
- Hi-Speed Service max weight: 5kg max size: 300 x 300 x 100mm (12" x 12" x 4")
- Vehicle Ferry Service max weight: 40 kg max size: 1220 x 1520 x 2440 mm¹ (4' x 5' x 8').
¹An excess length charge of £5.00 + VAT for every half metre (or part thereof) applies to items in excess of 1830 mm (6').
Sailboards & Masts: All sailboards/masts in excess of 6'0" are charged at £5.00 + VAT for every half metre or part thereof. Maximum Length is 8'0".
Oversize or Overweight Parcels: For consignments exceeding the limits, we recommend shipment via the daily groupage service operated by Red Funnel Distribution.
Full Trailer Loads: Red Funnel Distribution can deliver unaccompanied trailers direct to your customer and return the empty to Southampton. Normal 'drive-through' maximum dimensions are: L 36.5m (120') x W 42m (14') x H 4.9m (16'). Special arrangements can be made to carry much higher loads. Please call us to discuss your requirements.
