Paragliding

The Isle of Wight’s unique climate escapes the worst effects of low pressure meaning there are more flying days throughout the year.

There are 12 flying sites on the Island, which cater for all wind directions as well as a good variety of terrain with cliff sites, thermal ridges, a challenging 15km cliff run and the possibility of flying sea thermals as well as land based thermals.

Experienced pilots should contact the Isle of Wight hang-gliding and paragliding club for up to date information on sites and weather conditions.

IOW Paragliding Club

There are two schools on the Island for those who would like to give this exciting sport a try. Click on the buttons below to find out more.
