Try something different

The Isle of Wight is a weird and wonderful place. Take in the sights in a brand new way with our guide to the best alternative days out.

Fabulously Furry

Walk the Isle of Wight in the company of your very own llama. Wight Llama treks in Brightstone offer a range of options including family treks and sunset romance packages taking in the chalk downs of West Wight, with views of the Island, the sea and the Needles.

Llamas are pack animals distantly related to camels and were domesticated by the people of the Andes for transporting goods up and down treacherous mountain terrain.

Wight Llamas are specially trained and extremely docile and can be walked on a lead rope. Small groups are guaranteed as a maximum of four llamas are taken out per trek.

As well as enjoying the company of a furry freind, on some expeditions you'll also be treated to refreshments, ranging from coffee and home-made cakes to champagne, strawberries and cream.

Climb Tree-rific Heights!

Based in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Goodleaf Tree Climbing Adventures offers tree climbing for all ages and abilities. Whilst scaling the treetops, you'll be able to enjoy views across the Island and the Solent with the exact location of the trees a secret until a booking is made.

Climbers are given a health and safety briefing before being fitted with a comfy harness and hard hat, and are supervised and instructed throughout. Hang out in the canopy, enjoy a spot of branch walking or relax in the tree hammock before abseiling to the ground through the branches.

Back on solid ground, a picnic awaits as you celebrate the day's achievements.
