Travel Connections

Southampton

Southampton is the gateway to Cowes and the Isle of Wight. The city has excellent road, rail and sea connections and has its own airport with scheduled flights to a wide range of domestic and European destinations.

Red Funnel has two terminals in Southampton. Terminal 1 (vehicle ferry services to East Cowes) is at Dock Gate 7 off Town Quay Road, SO14 2AQ. Terminal 2 (Red Jet Hi-Speed foot passenger service to West Cowes) is loacted on Town Quay, SO14 2PQ.

Red Funnel's Red Jet Hi-Speed service, in conjunction with South West Train's Southampton-London Waterloo service is the quickest route to the Isle of Wight from the capital with an average journey time of just 125 minutes.

Isle of Wight

Cowes is the birthplace of yachting and the destination for Red Funnel's services from Southampton. Located at the mouth of the Medina Valley, East and West Cowes give direct access to the Island's commercial corridor stretching as far inland as Newport.

Red Funnel has two terminals on the Isle of Wight separated by the river Medina. East Cowes terminal (vehicle ferry services from Southampton) is at Trinity Road, PO32 6RF. West Cowes terminal (Red Jet Hi-Speed foot passenger services from Southampton) is in Fountain Yard, PO31 7AR.

A floating bridge (passengers & non-freight vehicles) connects East and West Cowes, avoiding an approximate 30-40 minute journey by road.
